In the picturesque village of Portaria in Pelion, the romantic, colour-bursting wedding of Apostolia and Antonis bedazzled everyone at the Valeni Boutique Hotel & Spa. Residing in Germany, the couple dreamed of a destination wedding in Greece with about 100 family members and friends. They ultimately fell in love with the charming and picturesque village of Portaria in Pelion, and Valeni Boutique Hotel & Spa, where a fabulous reception unfolded in a romantic atmosphere surrounded by Pelion’s lush natural beauty.

The villages of Portaria, nestled on the mountain slope, are built with traditional Pelion architecture, with stunning views of the thick hillsides and the azure sea. Who wouldn’t want to exchange vows in this natural setting with the sound of crystal-clear waters in the background? The wedding invitations, designed by the couple – from the central design to the color palette – drew inspiration from local architecture. They aimed for a blend of Pelion tradition with contemporaty touches, highlighted by warm terracotta hues reminiscent of Portaria’s courtyards. The ceremony took place at the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in Makrinitsa. Built in 1767, this church is an outstanding example of stone architecture in Greece. With the guidance of wedding planner Georgia Apostolidou of Pompon Story Events, the floral decorations aligned with the church’s traditional aesthetic. Floral arrangements added a romantic note and vibrant color, while refreshments and fresh fruit awaited the guests.

The reception just flowed in the outdoor space of Valeni Boutique Hotel & Spa, where a golden sunset and panoramic views over Volos created a romantic and magnificent backdrop for an evening of elegance and celebration. At this remarkable venue, tradition and modernity mix, weaving together scenes of stunning beauty. A beautifully designed seating board guided guests to their seats, as welcome drinks and elegant canapés were served in anticipation of the newlyweds. Ceramic vases overflowing with vibrant blooms dressed the wooden tables, covered with linen and dusty-blue runners. Macramé accents and embroidered napkins added an artisanal touch to the setting. The atmospheric lighting of Valeni, authentic Greek flavors, and a flower-adorned bar serving fresh cocktails infused the evening with festive jubilance. On the specially designed dance floor, Apostolia and Antonis celebrated beneath the lights, dancing the night away. One by one, guests and family joined in, and the evening evolved into a spirited celebration of love and togetherness.
