He studied film and developed images in the darkroom while studying photography with the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture. This early, hands-on approach shaped his artistic vision. He was influenced by iconic photographers such as Josef Koudelka, Richard Avedon and Herb Ritts as his work reflects a balance of emotion, form and narrative depth.

While shooting wedding photography, Vangelis draws inspiration from his couples. He approaches wedding photography as an intuitive interplay between documentary, portrait and editorial styles. He anticipates fleeting moments as he captures images that feel natural, soulful and alive.
